How many homes should you look at before you purchase? This is a common question among first time home buyers. The answer is based on you. You should look at as many as it takes before you are comfortable putting in an offer.
I've had buyers look at one home and put in an offer. I've had some look at dozens of homes before deciding it was the right one for them.
If you are a first time home buyer and want to buy the first or second home you tour, I will probably ask you to tour at least five just so you don't look back with regret, thinking you did not look at enough homes.
According to the National Association of Realtors, the average home buyer looks at 10 homes before going under contract. That number is probably up slightly because the state of our market and high buyer demand.
